What these grades mean
- Strong standard
- Goes beyond what Ofsted expects, consistently.
- Expected standard
- Does what Ofsted expects of every school. The most common grade.
Report cards started in November 2025 and can’t be compared with the old grades like Good or Outstanding. Most schools get a mix of grades. More about report cards.
Next inspection: around July 2030
The last inspection was in July 2026. Schools are usually inspected about every four years.
An estimate, not an Ofsted date. Ofsted doesn’t publish its schedule and gives schools about a day’s notice. The law says the next inspection must be by August 2031 at the latest, and Ofsted can visit sooner if it has concerns.
